Private / public: the differences in the status of cultural establishments take on even more meaning in times of crisis. Not all sectors are affected, but when they are, the economic impact differs depending on the model. On the stage side, public theaters receive subsidies from the State, regions and local authorities. Not the private sector, with 90 members very present in Paris, but also in Nantes, Lyon or Bordeaux. The public has no obligation of result, when, for the private sector, success is a necessity. Last May, "on an exceptional and temporary basis", an emergency fund of 5.8 million euros for non-subsidized live performance was created by the Association pour le Support du Théâtre Privé (ASTP), the State, the cities of Paris and Nantes, the Île-de-France region and Adami. He has helped more than 1,000 structures.
