With a strict sanitary protocol for the coronavirus, as of next Monday the City Government will reopen the Chacarita, Flores and Recoleta cemeteries so that residents can visit the graves of their loved ones.

The opening will be from Monday to Sunday, including holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. As established by the authorities, up to two people may enter with a maximum stay of one hour . Visitors may enter with their vehicles and must go directly to the parking lot corresponding to the area to be visited. The staff in charge of security will take your temperature.

"We know how important it can be for many neighbors to visit loved ones who are no longer physically in the cemetery. That we can do it today, with the specific protocol to take care of ourselves, is one more step that can help us get through this situation", stated Felipe Miguel, Head of the Buenos Aires Cabinet.

We just signed the provision that enables visits to the Chacarita, Recoleta and Flores cemeteries. A new step to normality.

Along the same lines, he stressed: "In this context of commotion, we have to stay united. Our goal today is that the neighbors, little by little, recover their freedoms, provided that the sanitary conditions allow it."

As is customary in other areas of the City, the use of masks and social distance will be mandatory at all times, while tourist or recreational visits will not be allowed.

In the case of deaths, the current protocol that establishes the admission of five people close to the deceased and a minister of the religious belief professed by the family continues.

The protocol establishes that the accompanying processions should go directly to the burial or cremation sector, as the case may be.
