Moscow - Sana
Russia has called on the United States to return to dialogue with Iran instead of continuing to issue threats against it.
Sputnik quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement today, "The United States continues its dangerous maneuvers in the UN Security Council in the hope of achieving its anti-Iranian plans after Washington failed in a draft resolution on an indefinite arms embargo against it."
The Russian Foreign Ministry criticized the United States' endeavor to besiege the United Nations and the Security Council, calling on Washington to "make a choice in favor of reasonable decisions and not deprive itself of the opportunity to reach agreements with Iran."
In turn, the Russian First Deputy Representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Poliansky, announced that the United States is seeking to block Russia's invitation to hold a meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss American steps to re-impose sanctions on Iran.
Russia has repeatedly condemned in the strongest terms the actions of the United States of America in the UN Security Council aimed at re-imposing sanctions on Iran, describing these actions as "crude."
