A true miracle of summer, the La Roque-d'Anthéron International Festival was the only major event not to be canceled. Return on an extraordinary edition with its director René Martin, who talks about his many projects despite the crisis.
LE FIGARO. - Maintaining the 40th edition of La Roque d'Anthéron despite the health crisis was a risky bet. Is he successful?
René MARTIN. - More than we expected. For this very special edition, we put on sale 35,000 tickets. And despite a ticket office opening on June 25, we had over 30,000 spectators, with a 90% fill rate. This is proof that the classic audience is ready to come back as soon as the sanitary measures are enforced.
Were these measures easily accepted?
Very well. We made the choice to separate the spectators with two empty chairs on each side. Even when they came as a couple or as a family. No one made a fuss. Nor for wearing a mask
