The rejection of the judicial reform project promoted by the national government will be reflected from Wednesday in a series of protests that will have as their epicenter the vicinity of the National Congress, where senators plan to debate the initiative next Thursday.

The actions that they organized self-organized, and that were promoted through social networks, will begin on Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m., with the installation of a tent in front of the Legislative Palace.

Later, around 8 p.m., the objective is to start a vigil there to promote the questions against the legislative proposal that last week reached an opinion in the Constitutional Affairs and Justice and Criminal Affairs committees of the upper house.

Protests against judicial reform

The organizers ask that those who join the protest respect the social isolation measures aimed at preventing coronavirus infections. They even advanced that a scheme of reduced shifts and sanitary protocols will be implemented for those who remain inside the tent that will be installed in front of Congress.

On Thursday, at 12 , it is planned to hold a banner and a symbolic hug to the Legislative Palace. To do this, the leaders calling for the protest already have a 150 meter flag.

From that moment on, the objective is to maintain the protests for the duration of the session in the National Senate. And if the debate is postponed until Friday, the organizers already anticipated that they will keep the vigil to reject the vote on the reform.

"Kirchnerism wants to concentrate all power in Argentina. In this way, it will be able to govern ignoring the Constitution and even reform it," warned those promoting the demonstrations through a video broadcast on social networks.

In that spot, they also denounce that "with the judicial reform they intend to take over the Supreme Court" and that is why they call to "support the judges and the attorney, and stop the reform in Congress or on the street."

The protests could be replicated in different parts of the country, as happened with the massive demonstrations on August 17, in which slogans against the national government were promoted.

The text of the judicial reform distributed last Thursday by the Frente de Todos block bears the signature of 19 senators from that space and does not have the support of the Juntos por el Cambio interblock, which advanced its vote against considering it "inappropriate." and "lacking consensus".

The majority opinion was signed by the presidents of the Constitutional Affairs and Justice and Criminal Affairs commissions that led the debate, María de los Ángeles Sacnun, from Santa Fe, and Oscar Parrili, from Neuquén.

The opposition questioned, in another of the amended articles, the inclusion of the word "media" in the paragraph that mentions the obligation to communicate to the Council of the Magistracy "any attempt to influence its decisions by political, economic or media powers. "considering that they constitute" a measure against freedom of the press. "
