The general travel warning for third countries outside the EU will be extended by the Federal Foreign Office until September 14th. This was confirmed to SPIEGEL from government circles. Foreign Minister Heiko Maas also presented the decision to the cabinet, the Reuters news agency had previously reported.

The previous regulation ran until August 31, which is why a decision on an extension had to be made. The tourism industry had called for greater differentiation by country. The news agency also reports on it and refers to government circles.
