- Rosenheim landlord shot dead: suspect arrested

The mentally disturbed man, who was arrested by a special task force in front of his apartment on Saturday, is now in the Gabersee district hospital. The officers came across the 41-year-old as part of the investigation in the vicinity of the restaurant "Il Giornale", which Werner P. (46) ran together with his wife.
Many years ago, the Rosenheim resident had problems with the police because of drug possession and minor offenses. Because he had also shown great interest in firearms at the time and was classified as mentally ill, the police called on the special task force to arrest the suspect. When the 41-year-old left his apartment building on Saturday, the investigators attacked. A pistol was then promptly found in the house. By comparing tracks, it has meanwhile been found that the fatal shot in Großkarolinenfeld near Rosenheim originated from the confiscated weapon.
Werner P. was shot in the driveway of his house in the early morning of November 17th (we reported). Where the murder weapon came from is still completely unclear, according to Chief Detective Werner Vormann. In the course of investigations in the area of the arrested person, eight apartments have been searched and a large number of illegal handguns and long weapons have been seized, said the head of the "Karo" special commission. There are proceedings against the gun owners for violating the gun law.
The alleged murderer last lived in the north of Rosenheim in an apartment next to his parents' house. It is said that the trained butcher had psychological problems in 1996 because of a relationship crisis. The 41-year-old denies the fact, but not that he knew the murder victim. The police have so far only been able to verify fleeting contacts: years ago, when the early retiree was still working as an insurance agent, he wanted to sell the innkeeper an insurance policy. The local ban may also originate from this time. However, the police are puzzling as to how the 41-year-old could commit a murder with the signature of a professional.
