Martín Guzmán sent a letter to the IMF, invited a mission to Argentina and asked for financial assistance

The Minister of Economy Martín Guzmán sent a letter this Wednesday to the director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, to formally begin the renegotiation of Argentina's debt.

Guzmán, who signed the note with the president of the Central Bank, Miguel Pesce, invited Georgieva to send a mission to the country and requested financial assistance.

"We have sent the IMF this letter that describes the complex situation that Argentina is facing and the need to keep ourselves under sustainability criteria in this process," Guzmán explained from his social networks, where he shared the text.

And he added: "During the months in which we work on restructuring the debt with our private external creditors, we managed to build a bond of understanding and mutual cooperation with the IMF, with its managing director and the staff that accompanies her."

Guzmán, who made the letter public shortly after President Alberto Fernández reported that he had an "extensive talk" with Georgieva,
