US President Donald Trump continued to make threats against protesters against US police racism and today announced his intention to deploy reinforcements of federal forces in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to suppress them after two people were shot dead during demonstrations calling for justice for Jacob Blake, an African American who shot him.
"We will not stand in front of looting, arson, violence and chaos on American streets," the Agence France-Presse quoted Trump as saying in a tweet, adding: "I will send federal law enforcement forces and the National Guard to Kenosha, Wisconsin, to restore law and order."
Yesterday, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers declared a state of emergency to quell protests against the police shooting of Blake, in a new crime added to the racist crimes record in the United States.
Trump had previously threatened to use the US military to suppress the demonstrations taking place in the United States for several months after the killing of African American George Floyd by the police, and he was subjected to harsh criticism for his inflammatory style.
