He announced on Wednesday on the online service Twitter that he wanted to send national guards and federal police officers to prevent "looting, arson, violence and anarchy" in Kenosha. In the city of Wisconsin, two people were killed in protests on Tuesday when hundreds of protesters took to the streets over police shooting at 29-year-old African American Jacob Blake.
"We will not tolerate looting, arson, violence and anarchy on American streets," said Trump. "Law and order" should be restored. It was his first reaction since the shooting at Blake. Police officers shot the African-American man in the back several times in the presence of his three children in Kenosha on Sunday, seriously injuring him. Little has been known about the background to the incident.
Since then, there have been daily protests in the city. Two people were shot dead Tuesday evening after violent clashes between different groups during the protests. According to media reports, it is determined whether the shooting was linked to the presence of armed white militias in the city.
According to the police, a 17-year-old was arrested in this matter on Wednesday. The officers took the young man into custody in Antioch, Illinois. He has already been formally charged with the homicide and is being transferred to Wisconsin.
