While teams pleaded for relaxation, the health protocol was formalized by the organizers of the Tour. In agreement with the French authorities, it was specified in the morning before the start of the race. Therefore, two positive cases of Covid-19 within, not of the workforce, but of the entire team (i.e. 30 members) will be crippling. However, Jean-Michel Blanquer, Minister of Education also in charge of Sports, wanted to be reassuring by estimating the hypothesis of a "very weak" stopping of the race, visiting the starting village this morning in the streets of Nice.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 22 teams engaged on the Grande Boucle will travel the roads of France for the first time at the dawn of the start of the school year. At the end of the 21 stages on the program, the next winner of the Tour will be crowned on September 20 in Paris. Our special correspondent Jean-Julien Ezvan recounts this unique calendar and organization, for a Tour with an already historic character.
