Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced about two weeks ago that Israel is working to allow flights in Saudi Arabia, in order to shorten the flight time to the United Arab Emirates. At a press conference held at the end of a tour of Ben Gurion Airport, Netanyahu said that this would significantly shorten the duration of the flight to the country, with which an agreement was announced to normalize relations, as well as to the countries of the Far East.

"I estimate that we will reach an agreement that will allow direct flights between Tel Aviv and Dubai - and that will open up the aviation and tourism market," Netanyahu announced at the time. "This is a short three-hour flight that will change Israeli aviation."
