The first trial of the 2015 Islamist attacks opens Wednesday before the specially composed Paris Assize Court, and is expected to last until November 10. It concerns the crimes committed on January 7, 8 and 9, 2015 by the brothers Saïd and Chérif Kouachi - including the massacre at Charlie Hebdo , in the 11th arrondissement - and, on the other hand, by Amedy Coulibaly - including the killing of the Hyper Cacher at the Porte de Vincennes. This bloody series left a total of 17 dead and several injured.

The authors of the carnage are no longer of this world. The Kouachi brothers fell under the bullets of the GIGN at the end of a run which had led them to a printing press in Seine-et-Marne which they had made their Fort Chabrol. Amedy Coulibaly was shot dead by police at the scene of his hostage-taking, a large kosher products store, after four men of Jewish faith were killed.
The first like the second had, moreover, assassinated representatives of the order.
