Parly noted that the Turkish regime "objects to the existence of exclusive economic zones and questions the sovereignty of two member states of the European Union, Greece and Cyprus, and endangers freedom of navigation."

She added that "there is a right to navigation in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea and it is not permissible to seize energy and gas resources, especially if they are recognized in accordance with international agreements."
