France held the Turkish regime responsible for the current escalation and tension in the eastern Mediterranean as a result of its provocative practices.
French Army's Minister, Florence Parly, said during an interview with Radio Europe 1, C-News TV and Les Zico newspaper that the current tensions over gas exploration in the Mediterranean are linked to Turkey's behavior, which is an escalation.
Parly noted that the Turkish regime "objects to the existence of exclusive economic zones and questions the sovereignty of two member states of the European Union, Greece and Cyprus, and endangers freedom of navigation."
She added that "there is a right to navigation in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea and it is not permissible to seize energy and gas resources, especially if they are recognized in accordance with international agreements."
Yesterday, the Turkish regime announced the start of new military maneuvers that are scheduled to last two weeks in light of its escalation of provocative steps in the eastern Mediterranean, after it revealed through a map it published its ambitions to explore for gas in areas off the coast of Greek islands, and it also recently sent a seismic ship escorted by two military ships.
