The Mexican full-back received his first opportunity in the Belgian League, however, the next step should be to secure a spot in the starting box.

Gerardo Arteaga officially joined the list of Mexicans who have played in European football . The Santos Laguna youth player had to wait until matchday four, but finally made his debut in the Jupiler League with Racing Club Genk. The side entered the exchange on the final part of the commitment against Club Brugge.

Arteaga started the commitment on the substitute bench, as he did on the previous day. However, this time, Hannes Wolf decided to use the Mexican at minute 91 . The former Liga MX champion came in to replace Jere Uronen. In the short time he was on the court, Arteaga received a yellow card.

The victory was for Bruges by scoring two goals against one . Brujas' scores fell via Hans Vanaken and Youssouph Badji, while Theo Bongonda scored Genk's only goal.
