The General Sewerage Company in Aleppo is implementing a 400-meter-long sanitation project in the neighborhoods of Sulaymaniyah, Jabriya, Al-Nayyal, Al-Midan, Al-Maari and Sheikh Abu Bakr, at a cost of 100 million Syrian pounds.

In a statement to SANA correspondent, Muhammad Baha Hajj Hussein, Director General of the General Sewerage Company in Aleppo, explained that the project is being implemented in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the Adventist Development and Relief Agency "ADRA" and aims to replace the sewage network in the areas of Nyal, Jabriya and Al-Maari because the network is an old and worn out stone canal. And some leakages of the channels in the area are carried out, noting that they are replaced to raise pollution and preserve the structural structure of the area.

In turn, the Director of Planning of the General Sewerage Company and the head of the Project Supervision Committee, Engineer Mustafa Al-Sheikh, indicated that the works in the project include excavation and installation of pipes, then filling and restoring the last layer to what it was on, and efforts are made to complete the works as soon as possible to restore the movement of cars to what it was previously.

A number of project workers talked about their tasks and efforts exerted. Worker Ahmed Al-As said that he contributes to replacing the sewage network and makes a double effort to restore the network to what it was. Worker Hassan Al-Mari confirmed that he is changing the sewage course, replacing the damaged pipes and re-pumping water to clean the sewers.
