The delegation of senior Israeli officials landed today (Monday) in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, after taking off for the first time on a direct commercial flight from Ben Gurion Airport. During the flight, senior adviser to US President Jared Kushner said that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to discuss with President Donald Trump soon about a possible sale of F35 aircraft from the United States to the Emirates to reach understandings on the issue.
Kushner and National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien met yesterday in Jerusalem with Netanyahu and Defense Minister Bnei Gantz and discussed the aircraft deal. Kushner said that after his meeting with Netanyahu, he is convinced that the prime minister feels confident that President Trump will do whatever it takes to protect Israel and maintain its qualitative military advantage in the region.
Trump's top adviser added that the United States has a security relationship with the United Arab Emirates that has lasted for more than 30 years and the goal now is to strengthen them and include Israel in this security dialogue as well.
