During this fourth stage of the Tour de France between Sisteron and Orcières-Merlette (157 km) this Tuesday, the first arrival in the high mountains (pass category 1) and therefore the first explanation between the favorites is Primoz Roglic (TJV) who was the strongest at the top of Orcières-Merlette, in the sprint.

This is the third Tour victory for the Slovenian world number one.

Well led by his teammates Wout Van Aert then Sepp Kuss, Primoz Roglic, great contender for the final victory, sends a first strong message to the competition.

His compatriot, Tadej Pogacar (UAE), is second.

Guillaume Martin (Cofidis), who had tried to attack 500 meters from the finish, completed the podium.

Egan Bernal (Ineos) takes 7th place and Thibaut Pinot (Groupama - FDJ) is 8th.

Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck - Quick-Step), fifth, remains in the yellow jersey.

Benoit Cosnefroy (AG2R La Mondiale) keeps the white jersey with red polka dots for best climber.

Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe) takes advantage of this mountainous stage to keep the green jersey.

Six riders raced at the front from the start of this stage.

They were A. Vuillermoz (AG2R La Mondiale), K. Neilands (Israel Start-Up Nation), T. Benoot (Sunweb), Q. Pacher (B&B Hotels - Vital Concept), N. Politt (Israel Start- Up Nation) and M. Burgaudeau (Total Direct Énergie).

Neilands (Israel Start-Up Nation), voted the most combative runner of the day, was the last to be caught 7 km from the finish.
