At least 11 people were killed in an attack that took place last night (Monday) in Syria and was attributed to Israel, the Lebanese Al-Mayadin network, which is close to Hezbollah, reported today.
According to the report, among the dead are soldiers and civilians in an attack that took place south of Damascus.
The Syrian Center for Human Rights reported three Assad army soldiers killed, including an IAF officer, seven foreign fighters from pro-Iranian militias and one civilian.
Yesterday, the Assad regime claimed that two people were killed in the incident and that seven others were injured.
The Syrian Center for Human Rights also reported that among the seven foreigners killed were Hezbollah members and that the targets attacked included the Damascus International Airport area and the air defense base in al-Hajjana.
The attack caused very great damage to property.
Sanaa, Syria's official news agency, reported that several missiles had been fired at the capital, Damascus, and that the air defense system in the capital had been activated.
"Sana" reported that the shooting was carried out from the direction of the Golan Heights and the Hermon ridge, and that some of the missiles fired at the city were intercepted by the air defense system.
"We were dealing with Israeli air aggression in the southern region and our air network responded and intercepted some of the missiles," he told a Syrian military source.
