Rural Damascus - SANA

With the support of the people, the municipal council in the city of Daraya in Rural Damascus began the rehabilitation of the civil registry building, a sewage line, and Mahmoud al-Dabbas school.

City Council Chairman Marwan Obeid indicated in a statement to SANA's delegate that the cooperation between the council and some economic activities in the city resulted in several works that all serve the people, including the rehabilitation of the Daraya Roundabout and a number of schools, and the contribution to paving and asphalting roads and removing rubble and dirt from it.

Obaid said that the school currently being rehabilitated is located in the tribal neighborhood and is for students of the first and second cycle, indicating that it will soon be put into service due to the increasing number of people returning to the city, which reached 15 thousand people.

According to Obeid, the tunnels dug by the terrorists in the city before their withdrawal from it in some areas of Daraya caused the sewage line to be destroyed in the Al-Abbas Mosque Street, and it was filled and started maintenance at the expense of the people, indicating that the length of the line is 600 meters.

At the same time, he emphasized that the rehabilitation of the civil registry building saves a lot of effort and time for the people.

The council had completed the rehabilitation and maintenance of the town’s main roundabout and Damascus Street, and work was continuing to restore the city to its vitality and glory.
