(CNN) -

A Canadian karaoke bar could face fines after 30 cases of Covid-19 were linked to the establishment.

All confirmed cases are connected to Bar Le Kirouac in Quebec City, the Regional Department of Public Health of the capital region of Quebec (CIUSSS) reported on Tuesday.

"We are in the process of finding out with public safety if this is a criminal matter," Quebec Health Minister Christian Dubé said during a news conference Tuesday, noting that Quebec is considering fines in the case.

'People have a responsibility.

She knows the rules very well.

These people simply did not follow the rules, 'said Minister Dubé.

"We are talking about karaoke, where people who think that by being with friends they know well can relax, take off their mask, pass the microphone, come closer to sing together," added the minister.

"These are nice things, but we can't do that anymore."

In a series of posts on the bar's Facebook page, the owners confirmed that they would be closing the bar until September 9 and completing several disinfections after several staff members tested positive.

They encouraged anyone who has visited to get tested.

So far there are a total of 129,425 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Canada, according to the country's website.

The province of Quebec, whose capital is Quebec City, accounts for nearly half of all cases in the country, with 62,614 cases in all, the website shows.

A total of 5,762 people have died from the virus in the province, according to a situation update published Monday.
