(ANSA) - ROME, 01 SEPT - Registrations for the new call for applications for high school students interested in spending a period of study abroad in the school year 2021-22 are now open on the website www.intercultura.it.
The programs of the non-profit association that since 1955 has been operating in Italy and throughout the world through the AFS Intercultural Programs network are primarily aimed at students between 1 July 2003 and 31 August 2006 and allow them to attend a local school and live together with a selected family.
New features include the opening of programs in Greece (school year) and the activation of the school year and the quarter in the United Kingdom.
Also for this year, Intercultura offers hundreds of study grants, through its own fund dedicated to this purpose and thanks to the contribution of many companies, organizations and foundations.
Among the first partners to renew the collaboration Arca Fondi, Banco diCredito Azzoaglio, Cariparma Foundation, Cassa diRisparmio Foundation of Asti, Cassa di Risparmio di Bolzano Foundation, Cassa di Risparmio di Padova and Rovigo Foundation, Manodori Foundation, Ilso SRL, Unicredit Foundation.

In August 160 students have already started their study abroad program - from a whole school year to a semester or a quarter - in countries of the Shengen area / Europe and over a hundred more adolescents are expected to leave in the coming months.
Before becoming effective, departures are subject to constant checks by Intercultura and the AFS network: for each country of destination, the information available - such as the state of the epidemic, the possibility of requesting an entry visa where necessary, the actual availability flights, the school opening and departure date is confirmed on the basis of the feasibility of these criteria.
In any case, Intercultura and AFSc continue to follow the situation even after the start of the program abroad to monitor the safety of the participants.
These first departures represent a wish for the resumption of the new school year and a message of hope for thousands of students who do not want to give up living such an important experience in their training.
