The Syrian Investment Authority announced its approval to include a vital investment project in the manufacturing sector to produce fresh and dry yeast of high quality in the industrial city of Hassia.

The authority stated in a statement that SANA received a copy of it that the new vital project will be implemented in the industrial city of Hassia in the governorate of Homs, at an estimated cost of 30 billion Syrian pounds, which will provide about 40 job opportunities and its production capacity is estimated at 30 tons per day, which meets the local market need of yeast and leads to dispensing with Import of this material and contribute to the provision of foreign exchange.

The Director General of the Authority, Median Diab, confirmed in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin that the yeast production project is now receiving all the incentives and facilities stipulated in the investment law in addition to the incentives provided within the import substitution program, indicating that the authority will soon announce a new investment opportunity in the agricultural sector represented in Manufacture of organic fertilizers to reduce the burden of importing this vital material. A study is also being given to launching an investment opportunity in the cement industry.

On the 18th of this month, the Syrian Investment Authority announced its approval to include a project for the production and milling of agricultural sulfur in both fumes and soluble forms in the industrial city of Adra in the Damascus countryside with a production capacity of 2,000 tons of sulfur annually.
