Exciting: Jana and her husband's dog, adopted by Animal Cruelty, communicates with her deaf father and mother • "My parents are Paco's babysitter"

When Yana Oshroff and her husband adopted the dog Paco from Animal Welfare in Haifa, where he came from the street, Yana wanted her parents, both deaf, to be able to function with the dog and enjoy it.

The end result is that today the dog understands not only voice instructions - but also sign language.

Paco knows how to physically contact Yana's parents to ask for things, while Liana and her husband turn with barks.

In an exciting video she posted on Facebook, she shows the dog's impressive communication skills with her father.

"When Paco came and was a puppy, my husband decided to teach him a lot of commands. I wanted to teach him sign language as well, because in my house it is the mother tongue. So, next to every voice command of my husband, I did the right sign in deaf language. I found out that he does it even when there is no sound, but only the gesture, so I realized the potential and continued to teach it.

"This connection moved my mother very much. I later found out that Paco understands the difference between me and my husband and my mother, because he barks at us and he approaches and turns with his hand, which means he understands that there are two worlds here - both of voice and of deeds.

"In general, he is a really contained dog, because my father is also blind and not just deaf, and Paco also treats him in a special way and expresses a connection. When my husband and I travel abroad or when we have a busy day, my parents are Paco's babysitter.

It is important for me to showcase the ability to make contact with the deaf and even the blind.

I have some videos on the subject, "she concluded.
