Reducing CO2 is one of the greatest challenges at Munich Airport on the way to more climate protection.
Another step has now been taken - with the first CO2-neutral passenger bus.
Airport - For the time being, a vehicle with an electric generator drive will be used, which was developed by the Rohrbach start-up CM Fluids.
In cooperation with other partners, a bus from the FMG fleet was converted so that it can be refueled with regenerative biomethane.
That drives the engine.
The energy is temporarily stored in a buffer battery that supplies the electric drive axle of the bus with power.
One tank of fuel is enough for 800 kilometers.
Other advantages are 90 percent less particulate matter and 60 percent less nitrogen oxides.
