Chinese researchers in Zhejiang Province, east China, have developed a computer that resembles a human brain and contains 100 million neurons, the first of its kind in the country.
According to Xinhua, Zhejiang University recently demonstrated its new advanced computer, which bears the name Darwin Mouse "Darwin Mouse".
The director of the Zhejiang Laboratory, Zhou Shiqiang, said the high-tech device includes 792 second-generation Darwin chips similar to the human brain developed by the university.
Zhejiang said the computer supports 120 million spiraling neurons and nearly 100 billion nerve connections, equivalent to the number of neurons in a mouse brain, while the average power consumption of a computer is only between 350 and 500 watts.
In turn, the research team leader from the College of Computer Science and Technology at the university stated that Gang said that 792 brain-like computing slides have been integrated into a three-tiered server structure to build a powerful, rack-like computer that is capable of performing many smart tasks such as enabling collaboration between multiple robots in Simulation of rescue and flood control operations, simulation of different regions of the brain, providing faster and broader simulation tools for scientific research, as well as helping it "write the mind" by instantly decoding the EEG signal codes.
