Twelve demonstrators were arrested last night (Sunday) in protest against government corruption and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, which began yesterday for the 11th Saturday in a row.

As part of this, about a thousand people also demonstrated in front of Netanyahu's private home in Caesarea, as well as in dozens of bridges and intersections throughout the country.

Among other things, about 200 people arrived at the Binyamina junction, where MK Yair Lapid also arrived. Hundreds of people

It was further stated that the reason for the arrests and detentions was for disturbing public order and assaulting police officers.

"Near midnight, the police announced to the protesters who remained at the junction that the roads were opened to traffic, and the police called on them to clear the road. Despite the police requests, the demonstrators refused to evacuate the junction, and the police were forced to evacuate."

In addition, last night, the police arrested the illustrator and activist Zeev Engelmeier for questioning, while he was disguised as a "Shoshka" figure, near the demonstration complex near the residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The reason for Engelmeier's delay was because he might constitute sexual harassment to the public, as he appeared disguised as a naked woman, but was released after a few hours.

At the beginning of the demonstration, police said they were calling on protesters to refrain from using violence and provocation.

"Israeli police officers are prepared and ready, at any given moment, to maintain and protect public peace, to allow for a safe and free life, and at the same time the freedom of expression and protest."

In response, members of the "Crime Minister" protest group attacked the conduct of the police in blocking the deputies, calling its operation a "new abuse tactic."

"This attempted silence will not succeed either. Our people are determined to get there in any way. This tune cannot be stopped - even tonight tens of thousands will call for a corrupt and failed prime minister to go home."

In response, a senior Jerusalem police officer told Walla!

NEWS that blocking the roads leading to the square is a security measure designed to keep the protesters safe.

Where is the government? Where is the responsibility? Where is the honesty? Only the corrupt Bibi is responsible. "Like Golda Meir - a corrupt prime minister who betrayed his country. This protest will send Bibi home."
