Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu revealed that he is in good health after being vaccinated with the Russian vaccine against the emerging corona virus, and he urged Russian citizens to receive it as well.

In an interview with “Russia 1 today” channel, Shoigu said: “In order to dispel recent doubts, we started using the vaccine from ourselves, to show through our personal examples that this matter is safe, effective and makes life much simpler,” explaining that his health condition is normal and he has not been exposed to any high temperature or any effects. For his part, the head of the Russian Liberal Democratic Party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, confirmed that he is in "excellent condition" after receiving the anti-corona virus vaccine, stressing that he does not suffer from any side effects if it is headache or high body temperature.

Russia is the first country in the world to register a vaccine against the emerging corona virus, and it was called “Sputnik V” after the name of the first satellite in the world launched by the Soviet Union in 1957.

The vaccine, which is given in two doses, was designed by the Gamalia Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology and its serial production was launched on August 15, and it is expected that mass vaccination of Russian citizens will start with it in mid-September.
