Jacob Blake, the black man who was shot about two weeks ago in Knosha, Wisconsin, testified for the first time at a court hearing, the BBC reported.
Blake testified from a distance from his hospital bed through a zoom conversation, and denied a complaint filed against him before the shooting incident.
Despite the heresy, the local commissioner decided there was enough evidence to start a trial in the case.
The complaint, for sexual assault, was filed against Blake during the month of July, regardless of the shooting incident.
Blake, who is in a paralyzed hospital, is charged with trespassing and sexual assault and disorder based on statements by his ex-partner.

As for the shooting incident, we recall that Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Cowell said investigators found a knife in Blake's vehicle.
According to the report, she was on the side of the driver 's seat, from which he got into the car when he was shot in the back seven times.
According to the same prosecutor, officers confronted Blake after they were called to the home of a woman who reported that her boyfriend had arrived at the scene without her permission.
He said police tried to arrest him with a taser gun in an attempt to subdue him, but failed.
Blake then got into his car, opened the door on the driver's side and leaned forward.
Officer Rusten Shesky grabbed his shirt - then fired his weapon seven times at the man's back.
