On the right, will the regions serve as a laboratory before the presidential election?
While Laurent Wauquiez (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), Xavier Bertrand (Hauts-de-France) and Valérie Pécresse (Île-de-France) have not given up on their ambitions for 2022, the former minister of Education seems set to be re-elected in its Ile-de-France stronghold in March 2021. According to an Ifop poll published this Monday, September 7 by Europe 1 and
La Tribune
,
the president of “Libres!”
would win very much, with 30% of the vote.

This score would allow him to clearly distance LREM, whose list would collect 19% of the votes if it were led by Jean-Michel Blanquer.
It would also be far ahead of Europe Écologie-Les Verts (19%), where Julien Bayou declared himself a candidate.
Finally, the Socialist Party and France Insoumise would bring up the rear, with 9% and 7.5% respectively.
Results that would sound like a setback for the left, whose flag was nevertheless planted in the region between 1998 and 2015.
