On the first nationwide warning day, which will take place tomorrow, Thursday, it will not be as loud in the district as one might expect if all sirens are to howl at the same time.
The District Office explains the reason: After the end of the Cold War, the civil protection siren network was known to be largely dismantled - including in the Miesbach district.
Accordingly, no sirens can be triggered here on the nationwide warning day.
However, the warning app "Nina" sounds the alarm on a trial basis.
Precisely because there are no longer any civil defense sirens in the district, the disaster control authorities recommend downloading the free app.
Only official and locally tailored warnings are distributed via the app, for example warnings of floods or a storm.
