Tehran-SANA
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif described French President Emmanuel Macron's statements about freedom of expression as "disgusting."
Zarif wrote in his tweet on Twitter today: “Has freedom of expression been institutionalized or hypocrisy ... inciting violence and hatred against one billion and 800 million Muslims is being encouraged with outdated slanders and violating the sanctity of their holy book and their prophet.”
Macron had defended the "Charlie Hebdo" newspaper reprinting offensive cartoons of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, claiming that this matter came within the framework of freedom of expression.
