The head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, speaks for the first time after President Alberto Fernández announced this Wednesday that he will take funds from the City to pay for the operation of the Buenos Aires Police.

"It was chosen to deteriorate the political coexistence that we had achieved," emphasized Rodríguez Larreta, who assured that the last time they spoke about the co-participation was in March.

The head of government questioned that they take out funds "from one day to the next in the middle of the pandemic."

"The decision he made is unconstitutional, so we are going to go to the Supreme Court of the Nation

to defend with all the legal resources that we have the autonomy and rights of the City. There is a lot of jurisprudence that says that a decision like this cannot be taken unilaterally and less than one day to the next, "confirmed the Buenos Aires president.

Rodríguez Larreta considered that Alberto Fernández's decision was "improvised, untimely and without consultation" and assured that the last time he discussed the issue with the national government was last March.

"If what we want is to unite the Argentines is inadmissible, it is contradictory, that a measure of such magnitude is taken unilaterally affected the resources of a single province," he lamented.

The head of the Buenos Aires government highlighted the predisposition he had to accompany the national government both in the renegotiation of the debt and in the coordination of measures to contain the advance of the coronavirus.

"I will always seek the unity of the Argentines," he said and later considered that Fernández "chose to deteriorate the political coexistence that had been achieved just at the moment when the country most needs that coexistence."

Even Rodríguez Larreta reproached Fernández that "a government works by planning, and that this plan translates into a budget that is approved for the entire year."

"Here they cut our funds in the middle of the pandemic, although it seems incredible," he insisted.

From the Buenos Aires government they let it be known that they will go to the Supreme Court to recover the funds that the Nation took from them.

"At a time of so much anguish for Buenos Aires residents, I reaffirm my conviction that the Police conflict must be resolved through institutional channels. Tomorrow I will refer to the president's announcement," Rodríguez Larreta said last night through the social network Twitter.

According to what has been decided by the national government, the City will receive one point less than the current coefficient of 3.5 that it receives for the coparticipating funds and that will be allocated to the Province of Buenos.

The President announced that he will stop giving him 1.18 points of the national funds received by the City of the Nation and will send that amount - which in 2021 will be about 45,000 million pesos - to Buenos Aires to pay for the operation of the Buenos Aires Police, that a wage dispute has just ended that included protests by thousands of police officers in various parts of the Province, including the Presidential Palace of Olivos.
