Victim of a fall during the 13th stage of the Tour de France, Romain Bardet will not take the start of the 14th stage.
“Romain suffers from a concussion whose intensity and the signs that he presented after the stage required that our medical team make him pass a brain scan at the Clermont Ferrand University Hospital, with the help of doctor Mathieu Abbtt of AS Montferrand.
This examination did not reveal any lesion.
However, Romain Bardet must stop his sporting activities and he will therefore not be able to resume the start of the stage tomorrow.
The date of resumption of competition will be defined according to the evolution ”, says doctor Eric Bouvat, medical manager of the AG2R LA MONDIALE team.
Fourth in the general classification this Friday morning, at the start of today's stage, Bardet is in eleventh position, more than two minutes from the yellow jersey, the Slovenian Primoz Roglic.
