Quite as expected, US President Donald Trump's announcement of the peace agreement between Israel and Bahrain has provoked resonance around the world, and with regard to the Arab side, especially negative reactions.

This morning (Saturday) Iran also joined the visiting countries.

"This is a shameful step," the Iranian Foreign Ministry said. "The rulers of Bahrain will now be complicit in the crimes of the Zionist regime that pose a threat to the security of the region and the Muslim world."

Turkey also condemned the agreement between Jerusalem and Manama, which is a bit puzzling in light of the fact that it is the first Muslim country to recognize the State of Israel and to operate an embassy in Tel Aviv.

"This agreement is contrary to Bahrain's commitments under the Arab Peace Initiative and the Organization for Islamic Cooperation," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.

Ankara also said that "the agreement will encourage Israel to continue even more in the illegitimate actions against Palestine, as well as in its attempts to make the occupation of the Palestinian lands permanent."

"The only way to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East is through a fair and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with international law and UN resolutions," they said.

At the same time, the head of the PLO Executive Committee, Saeb Erekat, who announced yesterday, with the approval of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, that he would arrange for the return of the Palestinian ambassador from Manama, issued a statement attacking many in the world, and in Arab countries in particular. Which led the UAE and Bahrain to normalize their relations with Israel.

"To those who try to divert the compass from the mistake of the UAE and Bahrain by blaming the Palestinian leadership and the Palestinian people," Erekat said, "Trump for the use of some Arabs."

On the other hand, senior officials at the Manama royal house continued to greet.

The most prominent of all was the former chief of staff and current interior minister, Rashid bin Abdullah.

He said, "The purpose of the agreement with Israel is to serve the interests of the kingdom, inside and out, as well as to contribute to improving security and stability."

Meanwhile in Israel, the person who published an excited announcement this morning with Bahrain newspapers this morning is the IDF Spokesman in Arabic, Lt. Col. Avichai Adrei.

"These are historic days," Lt. Col. Edrei responded. "This is an era of peace and normalization between peoples, and we are moving forward toward a bright future for the peoples of the region.

How beautiful is peace. "

Last night, US President Donald Trump announced that the Gulf Kingdom of Bahrain had agreed to sign a peace agreement with Israel.

In a tweet on Twitter, President Trump wrote: "Another historic breakthrough! Our two great friends, Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain, have reached a peace agreement. This is the second Arab state to make peace with Israel in thirty days."

The King of Bahrain, Hemed bin Issa al-Khalifa, was quoted as saying by the Arab News website that "a comprehensive and just peace must be reached with Israel in accordance with the two-state solution between the Israelis and the Palestinians."

The king thanked President Trump for his efforts to establish peace in the Middle East.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: "Citizens of Israel, I am excited to announce that tonight we will reach another peace agreement with another Arab country, with Bahrain. It joins the historic peace agreement with the United Arab Emirates. It took us 26 years to reach the second peace agreement with an Arab state. "The third, and it took us not 26 years but 29 days to reach a peace agreement between the third Arab state and the fourth Arab state, and there will be more."

"This is a new era of peace. Peace for peace. Economy for economy. We have invested in peace for many years and now peace will invest in us, will bring very large investments to the Israeli economy and that is very important. All these agreements are made by hard work behind the scenes for years but They have come to fruition through the important help of our friend the President of the United States, President Trump, and I would like to thank him and his team for this important help.

A new era - peace for peace, "said the prime minister.

Government officials in Washington earlier confirmed that Bahrain's heir, Prince Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa (son of the King of Bahrain), would attend the signing ceremony of the peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates on September 15, and declare normalization with Israel.
