Contrary to reports - relations with Morocco will not thaw soon, a senior Moroccan official said today (Sunday).

In a conversation with "Israel Today", the senior denies the reports in the media in Israel and around the world that Morocco will soon allow Israeli planes to pass over its territory and that the Moroccans are close to establishing full relations with the Israelis.

According to him, this is "Pike News".

This is the second time that senior Moroccans have been required to deny reports of normalization with Israel.

About three weeks ago, Prime Minister Saad Din al-Othmani rejected the possibility that his country would normalize its relations with Israel.

"We refuse any normalization with the Zionist entity because it will encourage it to continue to violate the rights of the Palestinian people."

Morocco officially supports a two-state solution, with East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state.

Its relations with Israel began in 1994, following the signing of the Oslo Accords a year earlier.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries ceased with the start of the second intifada in October 2000.

In doing so, the prime minister denied the words of a senior adviser to the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates to "Israel Today" that "Morocco and Israel have an infrastructure ready for a full agreement soon. The two countries have extensive tourism and trade and economic relations."

He said the Moroccan consideration for signing the agreement was "the desire for American backing to annex Western Sahara."

The adviser also said that Bahrain and Oman are the next principalities that are expected to sign agreements with Israel.
