President Reuven Rivlin, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi and Director General of the Ministry of Defense Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel presented the Israel Security Award this evening (Sunday).

The Eliyahu Golomb Award, the "uncrowned commander" of the Defense Organization, has been awarded for more than six decades for activities, systems and operational projects, which are the fruit of innovative technological development and have greatly contributed to national security.

The winning ventures provide a unique operational and technological response to material threats to the State of Israel.

One of the winning projects is a project submitted by the Mossad, Rafael, the Air Force and the central collection unit in the IDF Intelligence Division, in which, according to the Ministry of Defense, "technological breakthroughs were made and an extraordinary vision, creativity and determination were demonstrated."

Another winner is a project developed in IAI in collaboration with the Air Force, Mapat, Rafael and Elbit Systems, which "was carried out with high daring and determination, addressed unprecedented technological knowledge gaps and allows a leap in IDF capabilities."

Another initiative that was appreciated was created and implemented by the Armed Forces together with the Shin Bet.

It includes "innovative developments in diverse fields and makes a significant contribution to national security."

The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to A. from the Mossad for "a long-term contribution to national security and for initiating many technological solutions, while demonstrating exceptional talent, creativity, curiosity and daring."

Remarks by President Reuven (Ruby) Rivlin at the award ceremony: "The Israel Security Award is given to the outstanding ones we have built, to those who give us the ability to sleep peacefully. The winning projects are in two words - Israeli audacity. It's not just the teamwork - it's mostly always-always ahead of the enemy and showing him his back.
