A drunk driving accident occurred on Kwai Tsing Road.
At midnight on Wednesday (16th), a passenger taxi was driving along Kwai Tsing Road towards Tsing Yi.
On the way to the light at the junction with Kwai King Road, he stopped in response to the traffic light, and the consignment followed a South Korean KIA van. It was too late to stop and shook the tail of the taxi.
After the accident, the taxi driver and the female passenger suffered minor injuries and needed to be sent to hospital for treatment; the male driver of the van was not injured, but after an alcohol breath test, the alcohol concentration was confirmed to be 73 micrograms, more than twice the legal limit. Suspected of "driving under the influence" was arrested and taken to the police; another male passenger was not injured and was present to assist in the investigation.
