The renovations are already finished, a few points are still outstanding: If the community has its way, the new day care center in Holzkirchen should open this year.

- It was a premiere: In 2019, the first large day care opened in the municipality of Fischbachau in the Miesbach district (we reported).
A model that has now become well established and that could set a precedent across the county.
The charm: This type of care basically makes more flexible times possible and is less complicated when it comes to finding rooms and personnel, as the youth welfare office explained to our newspaper at the time.
In contrast to conventional daycare centers, private houses are also suitable for accommodating children.
Large day care will soon also be available in Holzkirchen.
The community has rented rooms for this in Tegernseer Straße, where a mattress shop used to be.
The start of the new kindergarten year had to take place without the new care facility.
"But we hope that we can still open this year," says Dominik Wendlinger, treasurer of the market town.
“The need is there.” There are enough children on the general waiting list.
As reported, the district office has already agreed in the past to convert the former business into a day care center.
A corresponding purpose agreement between the municipality and the district has long been signed.
According to Wendlinger, the municipality has rented the rooms on Tegernseer Straße privately.
And she had the building converted in consultation with the district office.
Fire protection, sanitary facilities and the back garden were mainly affected by the changes.
“From the structural point of view, everything is finished,” says the treasurer.
From now on there is a large group room, a separate bedroom, a kitchen, toilets and a changing area.
So far, the conversions have cost around 10,000 euros, explains Wendlinger.
A similar sum would be devoured by the furniture the community ordered.
In different sizes - because the ages are mixed.
Because in the day care children from the nursery, kindergarten, homework supervision and after-school care center are accommodated.
The facility can accommodate a maximum of ten children.
The district has access to five places.
In emergencies, for example, "if a childminder elsewhere gets sick for a longer period," explains Wendlinger.
It is well known that daycare provided by child minders is not in the hands of the municipalities, but is the responsibility of the youth welfare office.
Only when the district actually claims the places does it pay a proportion of the rent and other running costs, explains Wendlinger.
The district is responsible for 50 percent of the renovation, but the final account is not yet available, according to the treasurer.
The market town has put out a tender to find a carrier for the new facility.
One is in concrete discussions with a person who had responded to the call.
This person would then found a company and take over the sponsorship - similar to the principle of Kinderland GmbH.
Wendlinger explains that the new facility is a size too small for the classic and large carriers.
Two supervisors are required for the large day care in Holzkirchen.
Day mothers, nannies or educators are possible for the positions.
"There are already applicants."
According to Kämmerer Wendlinger, the market town will announce further details on the topic of day care in one of its next meetings.
