The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain have sealed the normalization of relations with Israel in the presence of US President Donald Trump.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the UAE and Bahraini Foreign Ministers, Abdullah bin Sajid and Abdullatif al-Sajani, signed several agreements establishing peace, the establishment of diplomatic relations and the "full normalization" of relations.
"This is an incredible day for the world," Trump said shortly before the signing.
The US president had campaigned for rapprochement between Israel and the UAE and Bahrain.
The UAE and Israel had already decided to normalize their relations in mid-August.
Missile alarm in Israel after shelling from Gaza
On Friday, Trump announced that the Kingdom of Bahrain would also follow the example of the UAE.
As a result of the agreements, there will be four Arab countries with Egypt and Jordan, and now the UAE and Bahrain, that have diplomatic relations with Israel.
At the same time as the Israeli Prime Minister's speech at the ceremony in Washington came to an end, according to the Israeli military, there was a rocket alarm in the south of the country.
Accordingly, two rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip, one of which was intercepted by the "Iron Dome" anti-missile defense system.
According to the Israeli rescue service, two people were injured in the city of Ashdod.
Both people were injured by broken glass.
Four other people are in shock.
In the West Bank and Gaza Strip, hundreds had previously demonstrated against the rapprochement between the countries and Israel.
The Arab states have so far pursued the approach of making a solution to the conflict with the Palestinians a condition for normalizing relations with Israel.
The Palestinians now feel betrayed by the actions of the UAE and Bahrain.
