Around 1,000 migrants moved into the new makeshift camp on the island of Lesbos this Tuesday.
With everything you have left.
They slept in the streets and fields after the devastating fire last Wednesday.
Without sanitary facilities.
Upon arrival, people had to register.
Helpers provide them with water, blankets and food.
So far 5000 beds have been set up in the temporary tent camp.
According to the authorities, the camp can accommodate a total of 10,000 people.
But not all refugees, mostly people from Afghanistan, Africa and Syria, want to go to the interim camp.
About 200 women and children protested on Monday.
Long live humanity, long live Angela Merkel was written on banners.
They chanted "No camp! Freedom!"
and demanded to be allowed to leave Lesbos entirely.
However, the Greek authorities have so far forbidden the majority of migrants to do so.
Greek police arrested five people on suspicion of arson in connection with the fire.
We are still looking for a sixth person.
The Chancellor has meanwhile agreed with Interior Minister Horst Seehofer to bring another 1,500 refugees to Germany.
Seehofer made this proposal to the Chancellor, reports the Reuters news agency.
It is about 400 families whose asylum applications have already been approved.
At the request of the Greek government, the refugees are not only coming from the burned-down Moria camp.
According to SPIEGEL information, CSU boss Markus Söder also welcomes the agreement between Merkel and Seehofer.
