(ANSA) - TURIN, 03 SEPT - "The Presidency of the Council has identified Milan as a candidate city to host the Unified Patent Court and Turin as the main seat for the Italian Institute for Artificial Intelligence (I3A).
The goal is to create synergy between the two cities and the government, and at the same time consolidate the north-west axis of the country: a strategy that would make Milan and Turin and, consequently, Italy even stronger ".
This was announced by a note from Palazzo Chigi.
The Institute's objective - one of the main elements of the strategy defined by the Ministry for Economic Development in the AI sector - is to create a research and technology transfer structure capable of attracting talents from the international market and, at the same time, becoming a point of reference for the development of AI in Italy, in connection with the main technological trends (including 5G, Industry 4.0, Cybersecurity).
To ensure competitiveness at an international level, I3A will count, when fully operational, on a staff of about 1,000 people and an annual budget of 80 million euros: Torinone will be the central hub with 600 people employed and will work closely with centers of national research and universities.
Great satisfaction is expressed by Palazzo Civico, according to which the government's decision "rewards the path of the city and its entire innovative ecosystem in a strategic environment for the entire country, which is artificial intelligence" (ANSA).
