A fire of vast proportions broke out, due to a cause still under investigation, in the port area of Ancona.
The flames started around 00:35 from a shed.
Several fire brigade teams from Ancona, Macerata and Pesaro intervened on the spot with tank trucks and ladder trucks.
Rumbles were also heard.
There are no casualties or injuries.
From the fire, which developed in the former Tubimar area, where there are various activities, a dense column of smoke arose that is still in the air. Police vehicles also intervened on the site and 'encircled' the area. The flames would have destroyed some trucks and affected warehouse facilities, where solvents, paints and other potentially toxic materials could be found. In the area there is a company that produces liquid nitrogen, a power plant, a methane plant. The fire was limited, but the extinguishing operations are still in progress. On the site also vehicles of the Civil Protection of the Marche Region and the Municipality of Ancona.
