How much should Corona influence social life?

Oberneuching - The Neuchingen municipal council is divided on the Christmas market.

On the one hand, a pre-Christmas gathering would be nice, but isn't the risk too great?

Mayor Thomas Bartl (CSU) put this up for discussion at the municipal council meeting on Tuesday evening at the Alter Wirt inn.

A final decision has not yet been made.

The Neuchinger Christkindlmarkt takes place annually alternately in Nieder- and Oberneuching.

According to the schedule, the celebrations will take place on Saturday, December 5th and Sunday, December 6th, in Oberneuching.

According to town hall boss Bartl, in addition to the Fixlmoar-Hof you can also switch to the area around the town hall parking lot, straighten out the entire venue and thus also place the Christmas market stands at a sufficient distance.

"What do you think?" He asked the community councilors.

"I see it as critical to hold the Christmas market this year", Markus Sedlmeir (ÜWG) opened the discussion.

He himself experienced how complex it is to hold an event at the 7Open-Air with Matthias Keller last Saturday.

"We would have a huge problem if something happened," said Sedlmeir.

Markus Reicheneder (FWG) sees it completely differently.

"If there is interest, I would take the market," he said, referring to the stand operators.

According to Bartl, they will meet with him on Tuesday, September 29th.

Then it will be determined what the opinion and mood of those involved is.

According to Bartl, should a market come about, there will of course be a corresponding, required hygiene concept.

And even without the security service it will probably not work in order not to exceed a possible upper limit of 200 people.

"The stand operators can stick to it wonderfully," said Markus Hermansdorfer (WGN), but of course it is a severe limitation for the visitors.

“You have to live with the disease in the future.

It won't be any different next year, ”said Beatrix Ertl (CSU) and pleaded for the market to be held.

“You can't cancel everything.

We should start planning, ”said Markus Lanzl (FWG).

You don't know how the number of cases will develop.

“You can still cancel in an emergency,” he added.

Christian Steiner (WGN) also said that one should check whether the market could be carried out.

"I am for an offensive approach," he said.

Sedlmeir asked how it worked, for example when serving mulled wine.

Does it have to be disinfected after every cup?

And do you then work with gloves?

These and many other questions need to be clarified.

Vice-Mayor Martin Bichlmaier (SPD) suggested closing the market earlier.

"The alcohol is the problem," he said, because if you are socializing, distance rules could quickly be forgotten.

After the meeting with the stand operators, the municipal council will make a decision as to whether the Christmas market will be organized or not.
