Congratulations:

US President Donald Trump this evening (Wednesday) held telephone conversations with US Jewish leaders on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah, and tried to persuade them to support him ahead of the elections that are expected to take place in the country in about a month and a half.

During the conversation, Trump referred to the peace agreement signed this week between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, alluding to the loyalty of American Jewry to Israel.

Trump has been criticized in the past for this link, claiming that he reinforces antisemitic stereotypes and points to a so-called double loyalty of American Jews.

"We greatly appreciate you, and we love your country," the president told his interlocutors.

Trump even said that his Jewish son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is "an excellent leader for Israel."

In addition, Trump referred to the election campaign, something that is not customary to do in such talks and said "what you do on November 3 will be very important, because if we do not win, Israel will be in big trouble."

Trump added that the American presence in the Middle East is "because of Israel."

An election card?

"This is a very important time for Israel, and we will do a good job," Trump said in the phone call. "If the other side wins, everything will be open. I think it will be a completely different story, that they will behave in a completely opposite way," he added. And Biden and the Democratic Party.

Trump also referred to the departure of the nuclear agreement, claiming that his predecessor in office - Barack Obama, humiliated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he signed the agreement.

"I remember Bibi coming here and humiliatingly begging him not to make this deal. But Obama signed it. I stopped it, and still Jews automatically vote for Democrats. I hope you can change that, that you can explain to the community what's going on."

The Jewish community in the United States traditionally votes for the Democratic Party traditionally, but Jews in key states — especially Florida — can change the outcome of close elections.

"It amazes me that I saw that I got only 25 percent of the Jewish vote in the last election," Trump concluded. "I have a Jewish son and daughter, and Jewish grandchildren, and I have all these accomplishments - I'm surprised that Jews seem to vote for Democrats automatically.
