After classic cancellation insurance, Air France is inventing Covid insurance.
A product designed with Allianz to make customers want to fly again despite the pandemic.
With this sesame, if a passenger cannot take his flight due to coronavirus (declared disease or quarantine), he will be entitled to a refund of his ticket.
He will also be covered if, at destination, the disease catches up with him.
In the event of placement in quarantine, his accommodation costs will be covered up to 150 euros per day.
If he has to see a doctor, take medication or be hospitalized, his medical expenses abroad will be covered up to 150,000 euros.

Insurance that is not free: to benefit from it, you have to pay 17 euros on a Paris-Toulouse purchased 100.98 euros but 43 euros on a Nice-Pointe-à-Pitre flight paid 411.51 euros.
Air France has been offering this service since the start of the week to its customers in a few European countries (France, Germany, the Netherlands, etc.).
Other companies (Emirates and Etihad) offer similar products for free.
Not sure that this is enough to revitalize air traffic, in great suffering in this return with the rise of the pandemic.
Regarding July and August, Anne Rigail, CEO of Air France, explained in a letter sent to customers on Monday:
"Our activity has fallen by 70%."
A torpor that affects all air carriers: in October, Ryanair will only run at 40% of its capacity while it was counting a few weeks ago on a return to 70%.
