" of the Caesar, have resigned from the new general assembly supposed to modernize this institution of French cinema, which has struggled for more than six months to come out of the turmoil, we learned on Friday.
In total, 182 representatives of the profession are supposed to elect a new leadership and continue the reform of the Caesar, undermined by opacity and co-optation, towards more parity and internal democracy.

But the maintenance of office, among 18 "
historical members
" who are part of this group, of the Oscar-winning filmmaker Roman Polanski, accused of rape, has revived the controversy.
Thursday, two thirds of the representatives of the new assembly denounced, in a forum addressed to AFP, a "
lack of transparency
", but ruled out any collective resignation.

The next important meeting for the Caesars is September 29, with the election, for a two-year term renewable once, of the association's new board of directors, with a woman / man tandem as its president.
The Caesars thus hope to turn the page on the crisis, which culminated with the collective resignation of its directors at the beginning of the year, then two weeks later, with a 45th ceremony marked by feminist demonstrations and the sensational departure of the actress. Adèle Haenel, when Roman Polanski was awarded, in his absence, the prize for best achievement.
