The Turkish authorities announced that 14 earthquakes struck the eastern province of Malatya in the past 24 hours, without any casualties reported.
The Turkish newspaper Zaman quoted the Disaster and Emergency Management Department as saying today that the tremors occurred in the regions of Hakimhan and Puturj in Malatya from yesterday noon until today, explaining that the strongest of these tremors reached 3.8 degrees on the Richter scale and occurred in the morning.
A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck the Hakim Khan area, Malatya state, yesterday, without losses.
