Prince Charles, heir to the British crown, called on Sunday to act quickly to fight climate change, the impact of which will “
eclipse
”, according to him, that of the new coronavirus pandemic.

Without swift and immediate action, at an unprecedented level and pace, we will miss the window of fire

a more sustainable and inclusive future
," he said in a recorded message to be broadcast to the opening of Climate Week this Monday in New York (United States).
“
Simply put, the global pandemic is a warning we cannot ignore,
” continued the 71-year-old prince, a long-time supporter of environmental causes.

The (environmental) crisis has existed for too many years - denounced, denigrated and denied,

Already in January, before the world elite gathered at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Prince Charles sounded the alarm on climate change, before a meeting with the young climate activist Greta Thunberg.
Queen Elizabeth II's eldest son tested positive for the new coronavirus in March but suffered only mild symptoms.
