Until the early hours of the afternoon, the protests in Colombia had brought together some 4,800 people throughout the country, according to Óscar Atehortua, director general of the National Police.
Atehortua outlined the call for 115 activities between marches, caravans and mobilizations, but explained that only 81 of them were carried out.
Some 400 cars participated in those activities, according to the official count.
So far no confrontations between protesters and security forces or cases of vandalism have been reported.
The Interior Minister, Alicia Arango Olmos, reminded the population that due to the pandemic, no more than 50 people should gather.

The reason for the protests in Colombia
The demonstrations were called by the National Strike Committee.
There are several reasons for the national strike are several.
Among them, the protesters will protest against police brutality, against the murder of social leaders, in defense of labor rights and public education.
The director of the Colombian National Police, Oscar Atehorutua, said this weekend that they will guarantee the safety of citizens during the national strike.
He added that his men will not use weapons.
In addition, crowds of more than 50 people will not be allowed, he said.
